This novel Thirteen Reasons Whyappeals to an adolescent audience because it talks about suicide and real problems that teens experience everyday. In the novel, a girl named Hannah Baker is in high school, she is dealing with people bullying, rumors and gossip that lead her to depression and suicide. Instead of her writing a suicide note, she makes thirteen tapes that explain why she killed herself. Hannah wants the tapes to be delivered to everyone who was mentioned in the tapes. The main topic of Thirteen Reasons Why is rumors and bullying getting spread around a school, which could relate to many high school students. An adolescent audience could relate to her experiences and what she is going through because it is a problem that teens face. An example of one of the rumors that was started was when Hannah and Justin went to the playground he created a rumor that they did more than kiss, which they didn´t. This would appeal to an adolescent audience because it can relate to teens and they could relate to what Hannah is going through and what some other teens around the world could be going through as well.

The novel 13 Reasons Why appeals to an adolescent audience because it is relatable, it contains various complications that many teens have encountered some time in their life. An exemplification is when an atrocious hoax goes around and it makes her feel uneasy to walk around in public. Another ratiocination that would make this novel appeal to an adolescent audience is that it addresses the fact that suicide does happen. The Novel explains why teens would even consider committing suicide. Many teens enjoy reading novels that are suspenseful and dramatic, this novel unquestionably has a plethora of both of those and more. An example of how the novel uses suspense is, in the beginning Hannah records herself stating the people that caused her to kill herself and explains what those people did. As Clay, the main speaker, is listening to the tapes you are anxious to hear when his tape will come up and what he did along with all the others. To sum up why this book appeals to adolescents: it covers subject that are sensitive; has situations that are relatable; and has suspense.

Thirteen Reasons Why a novel by Jay Asher apples to an adolescent audience because suicide is life threatening in high school. Kids like us don’t realize the littlest things you can do to drive people to do something this huge and commit suicide. This novel 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher does appeal to adolescent audience because suicide is important topic for teens.
In the world today, suicide is more likely in teens due to peer pressure and bullying. Teens should come to realize what the outcomes of bullying can cause. In Hannah life, her fellow peers who were bullying her, did not realize that Hannah would commit suicide. They didn’t want her to commit suicide, but she was hurting so much on the inside. Nobody knew that she was suffering, she tried to kept it to herself, but she just couldn't take it anymore. This example show that everyone should respect everyone because fellow students do not know what other fellow students are going through.
Suicide is important topic for teens today. In the world, there has been more suicides and there needs to be a stop to this by stop bullying others. The novel 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher shows the reader what the consequences of bullying can cause.

This novel, 13 reasons why , appeals to adolescent audience because suicide is a big topic for teenages because at this age they tend to undergo pressure and stress which may make them wanna commit suicide. Hannah baker is a teenager who took her own life and make 13 tapes on the people who was apart of her death. Adolescents find appealing these days are books about romantic, graphic novels, war, mystery, and so on. Some adolescents wouldn’t find this book appealing because it talks about a teenager killing herself. Even her closest friends being part of the reason she did it and the adolescents may can relate to this book or have a situation just like hannah. May try and commit suicide on themselves like she did. Other teenagers may like the way she went at it and try and commit suicide themselves. Some teenagers and even adults may not like this book because of the type of words they use and name calling.
